Becky and Gareth's small but perfectly formed wedding with 21 very special guests.

How did you meet?

We met in 2010. Gareth added me on Facebook, we spoke for a couple of months and then decided to meet in person. We got engaged in 2014 moved in together and had a daughter, Marnie, which was not planned but sometimes that's best and you just have to roll with it.

How long were you planning your wedding?

We didn't start planning the wedding until 2019 and had no idea that what we thought we wanted was going to be very different from what we had. We had originally planned on Spring 2020 however the pandemic had other ideas. We were due to have 80 day guests and 150 evening guests however we had to postpone and decided to move to September of that year, another 6 months away. As it was getting closer we became aware that we were still not going to be able to have the wedding we had planned. We talked about what we wanted and decided that all we wanted was to get married so we went ahead with just 21 of us there.

So on 12th September 2020 we got married, the service was at St James's Church Dudley which was wonderful. The weather was gorgeous and after the ceremony we went back to my Moms house to have a garden party with our guests. It was perfect.

Which Suppliers did you use?

I had my dress from Dream Days in Dudley, Men's suits were from Blooms in Wolverhampton and cars were from Finishing Touch. For everything else we were really lucky, my hair and make up artist Sister, Katie Hadley was brilliant and she made me look and feel amazing she also helped with all the decorations for my Moms house which we bought from Country Baskets in Lye and my cousin Richard Hadley who is a photographer captured our special day perfectly.

After the ceremony at St James's Church we went back to my moms house to cut the cake which was made by my friends Lisa, Jules and Marie whom I work with, we had one plain sponge and one Caribbean rum cake it was delicious. The weather was so beautiful we enjoyed some time in the garden with our guests and although we didn't want it to end we finally left for our minimoon in Gloucester, a little cottage complete with hot tub.

Do you have any advice for other couples getting married?

Sometimes things don't always go to plan. My advise would be to take life as it comes and just go ahead and marry the person you love, and keep people safe. We didn't get the wedding we planned but the wedding we had was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing.

Is there anyone that you would like to Thank?

All of our suppliers of course who's service was 5* in every way. Thank you to our parents for helping us with payments and to Katie, Richard and my work mates who helped make it all happen. Thank you to my family who joined us and thank you for the understanding of our family who couldn't be there due to restrictions, who knew we just wanted to get married and gave us their blessings so we could go ahead knowing that we had everyone's support. Thank you to our Daughter Marnie and her cousin Tamia who were our flower girls, and not forgetting our Grand Parents and Best Man.

Thank you everyone. It was Perfect❤
