When Natalie and Martyn finally decided to get married they knew exactly where it would be and within a few weeks, whilst on holiday, they booked the idyllic Pernera Blue Waters in Cyprus

All good things come to those who wait, which is exactly what Natalie and Martyn did, when the time was right it was all systems go. Here's their beautiful wedding story in Natalie's own words.

How did you meet ?

Martyn and I first met at school, he was two years older than me and although we had crossed each others paths at sports events we had never really spoken to each other. As time went by we started to talk and haven't stopped since.

What made you decide to get married?

We got engaged 18th October 2008 and always intended to get married but then life just got in the way. We had our son together and moved into our home and the years just seemed to pass by. We were on holiday in Cyprus in August 2018 and Martyn suggested that we go to look at booking our wedding, I just laughed it off as we had said this so many times, however this time was different and within a few weeks we had booked our wedding and holiday for the following September 2019.

How long were you planning?

Technically 11 years lol. In reality 13 months. Once the holiday and wedding were booked it was time to start to organise things back home. We knew it was only going to be a small wedding, purely because everything needed to fit into a suitcase, so I got to work straight away.

Which suppliers did you use?

Not being a girly girl, I knew that the whole dress shopping was going to be a little tricky. Having visited one large store trying on 12 dresses and not having the best experience I was left quite disheartened and thought that I would never find a dress.

On the advice of a friend to try a smaller boutique I finally summoned the courage to book with Dream Days. The whole experience was totally different. As soon as I walked in I knew that I was in safe hands and the very first dress that I tried on was the one, I did try on other dresses but nothing else gave me that feeling of the first one.

Once the dress was sorted and I had ticked that off the list, I then moved onto other small businesses for my accessories. I knew I didn't want shoes as I'm more of a trainer sort of girl, so I found a company on Facebook called Twinkle Toes who customise converse style pumps which were just perfect and I loved them.

We also had a custom made wooden guest book from another Facebook page which I had used before, called Catsi Creative, we just felt that it was something different and unique.

What was the highlight of your day?

Its difficult to choose a highlight as the whole day was just perfect.

We all had breakfast together on the morning then myself and bridesmaid went to the salon, then headed back to our room for the final preparations. Hair and makeup perfected and a few pre wedding shots later and we were on our way to the venue Pernera Blue Waters.

At the ceremony our 8 year old son walked me down the aisle with our daughter who was bridesmaid which was a very special moment and made me feel very proud.

After the wedding we went to our favourite restaurant called Mojitos, where the lovely owner had decorated the table for us and nothing was too much trouble. Myself and my new husband were then whisked away for some more photos which gave us some time for ourselves. It was nice to just step away, just the two of us and take a moment to reflect on our beautiful day.

Is there anyone that you would like to thank?

We would like to thank everyone that made the day possible, especially our family and friends that took the time to join us out in Cyprus. We knew that it wasn't going to be cheap and that some would not be there, however we appreciate the ones that did. Thank you❤
